As you know, yesterday was Valentines Day and if you would believe it, I haven’t seriously celebrated it. Ever. (Other than my mom getting my red hots and passing out candies in grade school) It was really nice. I think I spent way too much energy hating and resisting Valentines Day for the past ten years.
Justin and I walked around my neighborhood, which we rarely ever do and that was really awesome. We went to a bakery and got some valentines pastries. I usually hate getting out and walking around and being active. I’m lazy. I’ll just say it. I would much rather sit on my couch in front of the tv. Like,
sometimes, even though I have food to microwave, I would rather just be hungry than put in the effort to put the food in the microwave. Yeah. Forget cooking. So, walking around the neighborhood was really nice. I realized how close everything is. There is a coffee shop just a 5 minute walk from my house! And it’s great and it’s not Starbucks. I really need to get out and walk around more.
We went to brunch and then sat around and I read and Justin watched TV. It was a great low key day.
We went to PF Chang’s for dinner. My favorite restaurant. Seriously, if I could eat anywhere, I would want to eat there. And, Justin even waited over an hour for a table. For me. It was soooo sweet.
Then we came home and watched (500) Days of Summer which was totally cute.
Did you do anything fun? Or, maybe you don’t care and don’t celebrate?

I’ve been dating the new guy for 2 months, so I wasn’t really sure how big of a deal to make about VD, since what you do after 8 years is completely different. So I made him a little word of the day thing, only it’s a “Today my girlfriend thinks I’m…” thing. Which made me feel like I was eight. Then he did the whole flowers, cook you dinner thing, but then also asked me to read him to sleep? It was perfect. We were both eight for the day. But eight year olds that can cook Italian.

That’s pretty cute. Although, I must admit that if someone asked me to read him sleep, I might laugh him to death. Maybe because I’m kinda bitchy.

I won’t lie, it took me a little bit of courage to work up to it. But it was so cute I couldn’t say no, and then once I got started it was super cute.

Well, there you go. Acting like a little kid gets you sex…who would’ve thought?

we don’t really do Valentine’s Day for a host of reasons. But, when my husband made a really expensive gaff at Whole Foods on Saturday, we turned it into an opportunity to make a really special meal on Sunday. =)

That’s awesome. We didn’t do anything crazy or really expensive. He got me some Wii nintendo games for kids that I wanted. (The kids games are easier) That is what made it so special. Well, it was kind of expensive. For him.

Oooh, PF Changs? I get to eat there maybe once a year and only when we’re travelling because it hasn’t made its way to the prairies yet. Totally jealous!

Girls’ night. We burned stuff and drank wine. So really, it was like a typical Tuesday. ;)
Take-out Chinese and a movie would generally be my preference if I had someone special in my life. Sounds like you had my dream Valentine’s Day.
