My husband smoked for years and tried several times to quit. The thing that finally helped him quit for good (2 years now!) was the site http://whyquit.com/. OK, the site is crazy cheesy and the videos are too, but the advice this guy offers is what helped my man quit. Maybe it can help you too.

Oh, and you are not alone in the buying cool clothes department. I love Mod Cloth too, but since I'm not built like a 12 year old, I look ridiculous in most of that stuff. And I end up feeling fat too.

Good luck with your new path. You can do it! I think you're cool already - hello! The Bloggess granted you an interview. Um, that pretty much says you're cool. :-)

That is good advice. I don't have credit cards tho, and I have been really good about not using the ebay app the past few days. Slowly but surely, it is all good. Also, I was kind of freaking out when I wrote this post, but now I feel better. It wasn't really as bad as I was thinking it was. Thanks!

They say to cut up your credit cards if you can't afford to use them. Well, maybe you need to disable the EBay app. As painful as it is, what you don't know won't kill you.

To make it more enticing, why not make a pact with yourself ... that at the end of the month when you have money left over, you'll put some of it to good use (savings account, credit card debt, etc.) and use some of it to treat yourself to something special. That way, you're not really entirely quitting the good life cold turkey.

I just went through the exact same realization about myself... it wasn't related to clothes though I probably could look at my absurd closets and realize that most of them are there because of my issues about my self-perception.

We can quit smoking together (as soon as I finish this carton :) )

Hope you have a great weekend!
